Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 1, 2026 · Last updated: November 1, 2026
OhThere! helps you record where you put belongings and find that information later. This policy describes the OhThere! Android app and its optional account and cloud features. The public publisher name is OhThere! (individual publisher). For privacy questions or requests, contact support@scopevend.com.
1. Local use and optional cloud features
You can use local features without creating an account. In local-only mode, item records, descriptions, notes, categories, storage locations, movement history, recent activity, preferences, and photos are stored in the app’s private storage on your device and are not sent to OhThere!’s cloud service by the app.
If you create an account and use synchronization, the information you choose to sync is sent to OhThere!’s cloud service so it can be backed up and made available on your signed-in devices. You can choose not to use an account or cloud synchronization. Photos are optional.
2. Information processed
- Account information: email address, sign-in credentials, and an account identifier used for registration, authentication, account recovery, synchronization, and deletion. Authentication is provided by Supabase Auth; credentials are used for authentication and are not used for advertising.
- Belongings information: item names, descriptions, notes, categories, storage locations, movement history, archive/trash state, and related dates that you choose to synchronize.
- Photos: images you choose to sync, plus technical file information such as file type, size, and dimensions used to validate uploads and enforce storage limits. Photos are optional.
- Service and security information: synchronization state, quota usage, request timing, and limited technical or security metadata needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the service. Cloud infrastructure providers may process connection metadata, such as IP address, under their own service terms.
- Support messages: the email address and information you include when you contact support.
Information kept only on your device is not collected by OhThere!’s cloud service unless you choose an account/cloud feature or otherwise send it to us.
3. Camera, photos, and voice input
The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo. Android’s Photo Picker lets you select an image without granting broad access to your photo library. You can save an item without a photo.
If you choose voice input, Android’s speech-recognition service selected on your device may process the audio to recognize your words, under that provider’s terms and privacy practices. OhThere! receives the recognized text for you to review and edit; the app does not intentionally store the raw dictation audio.
4. How information is used and service providers
We use information to provide local item organization, account access, optional cloud backup and synchronization, private photo storage, storage-limit enforcement, support, security, and account deletion.
- Supabase provides authentication, the cloud database, private object storage, and server functions. Cloud information is processed in the hosting region configured for the OhThere! Supabase project and may be processed by Supabase service providers as described in Supabase’s own privacy and subprocessor information. Contact us at support@scopevend.com for the project’s current hosting-region details.
- Google Play distributes the app. This is a free beta; OhThere! subscriptions are not offered in this beta.
- Cloudflare Pages hosts these public legal pages when deployed there. Cloudflare may process technical connection information to deliver and protect the pages, under Cloudflare’s privacy terms.
- Device speech-recognition provider may process audio only when you choose dictation, as described above.
We do not sell personal information, show advertising in the beta, use your item information or photos to train third-party AI, or send photos to third-party AI services. The reviewed beta release does not include an advertising SDK or a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
5. Security
Cloud connections use HTTPS. Cloud records are protected by account-scoped authorization, and cloud photos are stored in private storage. On-device, the app uses encrypted local database and photo storage with Android-protected key material. These safeguards reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not use the app as the only record for emergency or safety-critical belongings. For passports, identity papers, or medical documents, consider photographing the folder or storage container rather than the sensitive document itself.
6. Retention and deletion
Local information remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app’s local data, uninstall the app, or erase the device. The app’s private database and media are excluded from Android automatic backup. Account deletion does not automatically remove copies stored locally on your devices or files you exported.
Items moved to Trash can be restored for 30 days unless you permanently delete them sooner. Cloud synchronization may retain limited deletion markers as needed to prevent deleted information from reappearing on another device.
Cloud account information is retained while your account remains active and is removed when you request account deletion, subject to the timeframes and limited exceptions described here. You can request deletion of your account and associated cloud information in the app under Profile > Account > Delete account, or without the app by following our account-deletion instructions. After we verify the request, we acknowledge it within three business days and normally complete it within 30 calendar days. Deletion covers the account, synchronized records, and private cloud photos associated with it. Provider-managed security logs or backup copies may persist according to the provider’s retention processes, and legally required retention may apply. Any such retained information is not used to provide your normal account service.
Deleting an account does not delete local device copies or exported files. No subscription is offered in this beta.
7. Children
This beta is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect account information from children. If you believe a child has created an OhThere! account, contact support@scopevend.com so we can review and address the request.
8. Your choices and requests
You may use local-only mode, decline camera or microphone access, skip photos and dictation, edit or delete items, clear local information, or request account deletion. For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or other concerns, email support@scopevend.com. We may verify that a request comes from the account holder before acting on it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, service providers, or applicable requirements change. We will post the current version at this URL and update the date above.
